Living in Florida we (six of us) go on a lot of cruises, usually based on great deals we find online. This one was no exception. I found a 5 day/4 night cruise to Key West and Cozumel, inside penthouse level, for $239. Since we have been to most of the Caribbean ports we choose our cruises on the quality of the ship...we were not disappointed. Embarkation was a breeze, 10 minutes from curbside to being handed a mimosa as my luggage was hand carried to my room. The room was nicely appointed with tons of storage, comfy beds and a nice sized shower in the bathroom. We used the dining room every night and had a hard time deciding from the menu as everything looked and tasted awesome (try the lobster tails!). The waitstaff was attentive and ready to fulfill our every need. We ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet on the 11th floor. I have been on ships where the selections are more extensive but there were more than enough choices to satisfy all of us. The homemade ice cream bar was one of our favorite features - no extra charge. Everyday there was at least 8-10 different flavors plus lots of great toppings (pistachio's, walnuts, hot fudge sauce, caramel and strawberry sauces, candies, etc.) We also enjoyed the made to order Belgium waffles with all the toppings for breakfast. At dinner a nice sushi bar was set up with all the accompaniments. We are salad lovers and there was a large selection of veggies, cheese's, etc. to make big salads for lunch. There is a covered patio at the back of the ship on the 11th floor that is hardly used. We enjoyed our meals eating "outside" with an amazing view. The entertainment was spotty. Of the 4 shows 2 were great. There were 2 dancers, Sally and Alex, that were the best act we have ever seen on any of our cruises. In one of the shows "Touch of Broadway" the first 2 musical numbers were not appropriate for families but the rest of the show was great. The 4th night the whole show was awesome. Out of 1-10 I would give the entertainment a 7. There was a lot of things to keep you busy if you wanted to be. We played trivia every day and managed to win 3 times. Debarkation was longer than usual as the computer at Immigrations was out and our debarkation was postponed about 2 hours. There was nothing the ship could do. I appreciated that they kept us informed of the situation. I look forward to returning for another cruise on the Century!
