Century Getaway

Introduction: My daughter, age 26, and I left Cleveland in a blizzard to arrive in Miami on January 20, 2008. Florida was in the 60's and raining. This was our first winter cruise so we were surprised that we needed to wear our winter coats in Florida. This was our third cruise; the other lines included Royal Caribbean and Carnival.

Port and Hotel: We stayed at the Holiday Inn at South Beach. I do like the general area with the boardwalk but prefer the Fairfield nearby. It is cleaner and offers more rooms with balconies. The breakfast at the Holiday Inn was surprisingly nice but overall - very expensive and unpleasant rooms for almost $200.00 with my AAA discount. We shared a shuttle from the hotel and arrived at the Port about 12:30. We had preprinted our Sail Passes and presented our first passports and were on board in no time.
