There were 4 adults traveling from Illinois to Miami the day prior to sail on the Carnival Victory. We arrived in Miami Saturday evening and stayed at the Holiday Inn, near the port. We found the Holiday Inn to be clean but extremely overpriced and the beds are very small and not to comfortable. But location is great!
We took a taxi to the port and boarded the ship at 12 Noon. It took us about 20 minutes once we arrived to get registered and on the ship. We went to the Lido deck for lunch and then started to familiarize ourselves with the layout of the ship. We found the ship to be a beautiful ship and all week long we saw many of the workers cleaning around the ship.
We purchased a balcony cabin (only way we will cruise) and our cabin steward as Imade. He aimed to please and was very nice. The only complaint we had was that the first two days the seas were alittle rough. There was an awful squeaking noise in our cabin and we alerted Imade to this. He knew about it and said that the "walls had to be torn in to to get rid of the noise?" We had to purchase earplugs because the noise was quite annoying, especially while trying to sleep. The beds are the most comfortable beds as well as the new bedding.
