Hello - we are two 60yos who like rock and roll music, so decided to go on this one for the groups performing - Bill Medley, Davy Jones, Lovin Spoonful and Paul Revere - WOW! We stayed at Marriott Hollywood Beach the night before and it was nice to walk along the beach and eat dinner under the stars.....very romantic. Embarkation was very easy - we were on the ship within 20 minutes of getting to terminal....greeted and send on our way to our room.... I was very excited to see the ship as we had never been on Costa yet. The ship was very beautiful.... Our room was about 192 sq ft and was adequate for 2 people, with a small balcony that extended out it bit more than those on the side of the ship. Our room stewart - Marjorie - was very good at her job and we always had a clean room. Saturday night, we had music & dancing and I won a DVD of all the performers for winning the "hand jive" contest. We were at sea on Sunday and met up with several cruise critic members and chatted a while than went on our way. Then we had dance lessons with Chris & Alex - East Coast Swing. At 1:30, Paul Revere and the Raiders were performing and they were terrific. Tonight was the first formal night and we met up with the Captain for drinks and than went to dinner and had an autograph session with all the performers..... I learned early on that to get into the first row, you must wait at the door a few hours early - Monday, we had a q&a session with the stars and it was funny....they sure were wound up! Got it all on tape. More dance lessons and than at 5PM, we were in San Juan, where we saw a latin dance group who were wonderful and the guitar player was very masterful. We really enjoyed it a lot. Tuesday, we were at St. Thomas, where we did the Sea Trek at Coral World. This is a helmet dive where you go down about 20 feet and walk around on the bottom. It was really a lot of fun, as my husband has never been underwater before and cannot swim. He had no trouble with it. Bill Medley performed that night with his son, Darrin and daughter, McKenna. WOW that is some family. Wednesday, at LaRomana, we went on a boat ride up a River and than visited an old town made of stone. It was fun and relaxing. That night after dinner, we had an old fashioned sock hop - fun! Thursday, Grand Turk, we did the Gibbs Cay and stingray encounter - we had a blast and they took movies of everyone with the stingrays....we snorkeled too and had a good time. Second formal night - everyone looked great. The Lovin Spoonful were the entertainment that night. They were quite good and their age does not seem to bother them... Friday, the day I was waiting for, was our second day at sea and Davy Jones performed at 4PM. What can I say? He was terrific! WOW! That night was "toga night" and everyone dressed up in togas and had a good time. If I haven't mentioned it, the dining room was really great and we did not go to the alternative restaurant because we liked our tablemates so much. We sang with the waiters and danced and generally had a ball.... Disembarkment was really easy and we were in a cab to our hotel by 9:00 am. We stayed the night at Marriott Harbor Beach and it was really nice. I got a cabana on the beach and all I had to do to get a drink or food was put a flag up nearby and someone came running. I stayed there for 6 hours and finished up our trip in a relaxed atmosphere. We walked down the beach later that evening to watch the cruise ships going out. Wish I was back on the cruise - we came back to Kentucky to COLD weather. Any questions, ask away!
