Best Time EVER on a Cruise

Sail Date: January 2008
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

I have more rants than raves for this review. It was an excellent trip and everyone affiliated with Carnival was helpful, courteous and very fun. From the minute we arrived at the Port of Miami we had the best help from the bag people on up to the folks who processed our documents on the ship. Everything was well explained and we got on board and settled in to a beautiful vacation.

Even the brief loss of one of our bags wasn't a horrible thing because we really didn't need anything in it until later on in the cruise. It was found that same night and we didn't miss it at all. Our room steward, Postma, was wonderful and our room was always clean and beautiful when we returned to it. He even set up a small surprise and was joyous to be in on it and seemed just as excited to be a part of it.

Carlos, our waiter, in the main diningroom made every evening fun. He made very funny jokes, had a good time with every guest and always made us feel at home and welcome. More

Natasha, bar waitress, has a great personality and we loved her. She had to deal with some of the most impossible guests and always had a smile on her face and a something cute to say.

We had fun in all the activities, should have made more time in our day to do more but we were trying to relax and build up our energy to return to the snowy frigid Iowa weather. We only had one bad day of weather but even that didn't last long.

My only warning would be that you have to watch the size of the "Carnival glasses" when ordering drinks towards the end of your cruise. They tend to get smaller and smaller and we didn't even notice until we compared glasses on our way home. I guess people don't drink as much later on in the trips but they charge the same money for their "cute glasses" no matter what the size. Less
