Some quick background; my wife and I are in our late twenties and this was our very first cruise. We chose the NCL Sun based on the Freestyle concept and the Western Caribbean itinerary. Overall, we had an outstanding week and would highly recommend the Sun!!!

Embarkation/Disembarkation First it should be noted that we had booked the Romance Suite (category AB), so we had priority embarkation. Once we arrived at the terminal, we were greeted by a very nice lady who asked us our room and then escorted us to a private check-in room off to the side of the main check-in lines. Check-in was a breeze, once the required paper work was done and our on board account was established, we were personally escorted to our state room and in less then about 20 minutes from the time that we arrived at the terminal we were in out suite room marveling at the view from our balcony. Disembarkation was just as easy, our color was called on disembarkation morning and we proceeded to the gangway to leave the ship. Our key cards were swiped and we proceeded to the customs line (that was long but moving) then into the terminal to collect our bags that were there waiting for use to grab. Total disembarkation time from the time that our color was called was probable about 30 or so minutes. All in all, I have to say as a first time cruiser, the embarkation/disembarkation went very smoothly with minimal lines and waiting. The only complaint that we had about disembarkation was that our flight arrangements home were late on the afternoon and we had to get off the ship at 8:50 am to meet our transfer and were unable to switch our disembarkation and transfer times.

Cabin First impression was that overall the cabin was very nice, and big! As stated above, we had booked one of the Romance Suites; it had a very large private balcony overlooking the bow of the ship that has two nice plastic whicker chairs on one side with an end table in between, a nice big round plastic whicker table in the middle (that could have sat four), and two nice plastic whicker lounge chairs, so needless to say that in order to fit all that furniture on the balcony it was huge (although we could have done without the big round table in the middle)!
