Background Information We have cruised many times before, on various cruise lines, Carnival, Disney, Princess, and Royal Caribbean plus this was our 2nd NCL cruise. On this cruise it was myself, my husband and our 13 yr old daughter. We had joined the Roll call for our voyage and looked forward to meeting all the people we had been chatting with on the board.
Hotel Info
We flew down to FLL the night before, and after some confusion found out our hotel had been changed from an Amerisuites to a Hilton Garden Suites. The night was spent uneventful and the next day our Limo driver was there promptly at 11am took us the short ride to the Miami Port. There we got our first glimpse of the Pearl. It is a very brightly decorated ship, and after that, we found it was easy to identify it in every port. Our check in went quickly, we were informed our rooms weren't quite ready, but please make our way to the buffet. At one o'clock the announcement came that the cabins were ready and we made our way to ours and was pleasantly surprised to find a very roomy cabin for a standard outside, plus even though we had an obstructed view, we could see over the lifeboat and had a view of the water!! The cabin was small but clean and well laid out, the only complaint is that when the bunk was down, it was very easy to hit ones head while sitting on the lower bed. Our room steward was great, every time we would leave the room, we would flip the little sign outside the door to what we needed, and by the time we returned our cabin would be spotless, with mints on our pillows and a great variety of towel animals who would play with our daughter's beanies while we were away!
