We arrived in Fort Lauderdale early/mid-afternoon, so getting on the ship was fast and painless! The ship was clean and beautiful and the last of the Christmas decorations, painting were being taken care of. We, as well as everyone else on the ship had greenery hanging on the door. I LOVED the special feel of this!
We had lovely days at sea - my only complaint was the lack of a band by the pool daily. I loved the band playing all the time last Christmas every afternoon! The pool bar staff is spectacular, and the other people on board were really nice! There were a good amount of teens and children for a Holland cruise, but they were all well behaved and really sweet!
Our First stop was Aruba. I didn't care for the Island because the people were rude. We had no trouble getting a cab to the beach, but had a driver try to charge an extra $50 to return. We explained we were dry and had been sitting at the restaurant for over an hour, but he wanted his extra cut! We refused and called another cab who came in a few minutes and had no problem with dry bathing suits! Unfortunately, he had no change for a $100 bill, so upon return, my DH had to try to make change at the shops. He tried everywhere and nobody would make change! A member of the staff from the ship recognized my husband, and made change for him! Just walked up and said - You're from the ship, I'll help! I wish I knew his name!!!!!
