Short Review and to the point - we LOVE to cruise...We have primarily cruised RCCL and focused on the newer ships (Freedom & Voyager class ships) The Carnival ships were very secondary to RCCL...the food was very subordinate...the service was poor - the photographers and bar staff were rude...the staff onboard did NOT speak English...no kidding..SEVERAL times we ordered drinks or our food at dinner and we didn't receive anything close to what we wanted due to the "language barrier" and then they acted as if "we" communicated wrong...

The Shore Excursions were the WORST!! We have cruised enough to know when to use the cruise lines vs. going out on our own - but when we simply want to go to a resort and get lunch we feel we should be able to count on the cruise line to provide the basics...no such luck...for example...in Manzanillo we paid for the The Las Hadas excursion...no matter what the offer - expect transportation to/from the resort and that's it!! The "lunch" is pathetic!! The staff didn't want to wait on us as we were a "free" meal(staff was VERY RUDE - can't express this enough!)...when we finally got a table (trust us it was because we had to "fight" for it!) they never offered us our "free" drink coupon...never once waited on us - we had to make it happen on our own...then the "buffet" was empty...no kidding - the hamburgers were non existent - the chicken burgers were non existent - the french fries were non existent - the pico de gallo, the chips and salsa, the guacamole, the quesadillas - all non existent! No Kidding!! All of the Carnival Customers were going crazy!! We had a meal of really cold hot dogs...

Now we have been on several cruises in our lifetime and NEVER have we been on an excursion where we were not offered at least a chair to sit on...Neither Acapulco, Ixtapa, nor Manzanillo shore excursions guaranteed a chair (in the shade or even in the sun!!)...we were on our own to find any sort of chair to sit on...Quite a joke for the price if you ask me...
