This is the second year we have sailed on NCL the 2nd week of December. Deals are really good and it is nice to get away to a warmer climate by this time.

We booked our own air fare and arrived in Miami a little late, but in plenty of time to catch a cab and get to the docks by noon. There was a line of people, but the check-in went pretty well. I had booked a guaranteed room only and we got an inside room on deck 10. The room was fine - small as usual, although I was surprised at the size of the bath. The shower actually had a shower door! There was a vanity for sink and it was not cramped around the toilet. The only down side was that we did have some rough weather and the creaking in the room at night made it difficult to sleep. Thankfully, I carry some earplugs and those worked nicely. We had hard pillows and I left a note for a soft one and did receive it. :-)

Due to an unusual tropical storm we had to divert course and were not able to dock in Samana. We had booked a tour because it is said there is not much to do there, so we still don't know anything about the Dominican Republic.
