We are a couple in our 60's who celebrated our 45 wedding anniversary by booking this special cruise. We were not disappointed. We flew to Barcelona on Delta (arranged by RCL) and had an uneventful flight. We arrived in Barcelona early the next morning and took a taxi right to our hotel. Unfortunately, we had to wait 2 hours to check-in because of our early arrival. We stayed 5 nights pre-cruise at the Apsis Atrium Palace Hotel. We booked this on line using cruise critic members for hotel recommendations. The hotel included a large, full breakfast, our room was on the 4th floor with a balcony overlooking a beautiful tree lined street. I must mention this room also had two bathrooms. What a wonderful way to start a dream vacation. We would stay at the Atrium Palace in again in a heartbeat. The service and location could not be beat for the price we were charged.

We took a taxi to the port on Dec 2nd after enjoying 5 days exploring Barcelona. We did the art tour, walked the old city, ate tapas, drank cava, and also met cruise critic members for a delightful pre-cruise dinner. The hop/on/hop/off bus is not to be missed.

The cruise: we had a JS on deck 10. Since we need handicap facilities, we booked the largest suite RCL that can accommodate our needs. It was perfect. From the large walk in closet, to the automatic door opener, the full access huge balcony, and the fully handicapped bathroom.
