Sail Date: Dec 2007

My husband and I live in the New Orleans area and were looking for an original place to get married. We decided to get married on the Carnival Fantasy the day of embarkation on Dec. 1, 2007. We parked at the Julia Street Terminal, as we entered the garage; the porters took our bags and directed us to park on the 4th floor. Once we got to the elevator, another porter was there waiting to help us. He even carried my wedding dress down to the first floor for me. We met our wedding planner and the Officiant on the first floor and had priority boarding due to the wedding and because we had also been upgraded from an Oceanview guarantee to a Cat. 12 suite. Embarkation was pretty much what we were expecting; a lot of security to go through, but everyone was very pleasant and helpful. It took a while for the ship to clear customs, and we began boarding around 11:30 am.

Because of the wedding on the ship, our stateroom was guaranteed to be ready when we got onboard. When we got to our stateroom, it had a big sign on the door stating that the no one could enter or exit the stateroom per the captain's orders. Thankfully my parents were cruising with us and we were able to get ready in their Cat 12 room. I received several calls from the pursers' desk while i was getting ready for the wedding letting me know how sorry they were about our room and that they would be sure that we were taken care of. To ease our minds more, they even came down to my parents' stateroom and gave me the new keys to our room prior to the wedding ceremony at 1:00. We were asked to go to the pursers' desk after the wedding, luncheon and pictures so that we could be escorted to our room.

I was then escorted to the Pavilion Library for the wedding, which was beautiful, then we walked over to the Jubilee Room for our luncheon where the food was phenomenal and the service was first class! We were then taken around the ship by Carnival's photographer John to take our formal pictures. John was amazing and very professional; all the pictures came out fantastic! The wedding and luncheon onboard was a truly wonderful experience and we are so glad that we had Carnival handle all the details! After the pictures were complete, we went to the pursers' desk and as soon as we were seen, we were pulled out of line to be escorted to our room. We were again told on the way there how sorry they were, but that we should be quite pleased with our new accommodations. We were escorted to the Sports Deck, which we had NO idea that there were even rooms up there, we were told; yes there are rooms there, but only two. When we got to the door, it said private, and I was given the honor of opening the door. When I opened the door, I could not believe what I saw; we were in the owners suite! The suite as massive, with floor to ceiling windows looking over the Lido Deck, a huge balcony, a bar, a dining room with a crystal chandelier, a living room with a sofa, three comfy chairs, glass tables and an entertainment center. The master bedroom was phenomenal as well, it had a king size bed, entertainment center, floor to ceiling windows, a double vanity out side the bathroom, and a massive walk in closet. The bathroom was huge with a pink jacuzzi tub in the corner that was big enough for four people!
