Considering the fact that this was my first cruise that I booked on a whim, I had a fair amount of anticipation heading into the cruise. Am I going to get sea sick? Will I like the food? What if I miss the boat? I also did absolutely zero research before the cruise. Smart I know:)

I was able to get a steal of a deal with Norweigian and opted for a Balcony mid-ship on deck eleven. At the time, this meant nothing to me. Looking back, I am relieved we had a balcony on a high deck.

We flew into New Orleans and took a cab to the port (28 bucks). We breezed through the line and were on the ship within an hour. We got to the port fairly early. The Norweigian Spirit was older than I expected, but I had no major complaints. Our room was of ample size and the bedding was soft and comfortable. This surprised me the most because I NEED a comfortable bed! The bathroom could have used more lighting, but I suspect this is normal. The bathroom also had a sliding glass door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. The guy who serviced our room everyday was excellent. He was friendly and did a superb job.
