The Norwegian Jewel is a very beautiful and clean ship. While the crew members standing at the dining room ready to spray disinfectant on your hands got a little annoying after a few days, I appreciated Norwegian's efforts to keep everyone well. I was impressed by all of the hand sanitizer machines that were everywhere on the ship. (I work in health care :) )

Food- While I do not believe there is a such thing as "bad" cruise food, I do think some are better than others. We definitely had some fabulous meals on this cruise, but overall the consistency of the great food was a little lacking. I have been more impressed with the food on the other ships that I have sailed, even the food on the Carnival Holiday was better than on the Jewel. However, I was always able to find something to eat even on the buffet and would not let the food quality keep me from going on a NCL cruise again. The Japanese restaurant (extra charge) was fabulous and well worth the extra money. This was the only "extra charge" restaurant we were in, but heard positive feedback about the Steak House and the Sushi restaurant. Mama's Italian restaurant was quite good and we never made it to Tango's. I preferred the Tsars to the Azura, but I actually enjoyed the decor in Tsars. It reminded me a lot of the decor in the Palace of Versailles. A little over the top, but fun.

Service- We had a few great servers on our trip, but overall I did not find that the service in the restaurants was as good as my other cruises. A few of our servers acted annoyed at requests for coffee and I often had to ask multiple times to get a cup. As soon as they knew you wouldn't be ordering alcohol, many seemed uninterested in filling your drinks. Very few seemed interested in interacting or carrying on conversations, which I enjoy. The cabin steward was fabulous and obviously the cleaning crew were doing there job. Not a speck of dirt anywhere to be found.
