Our family of 4 (husband, wife, grandmother and 6 year old son)departed Fort Lauderdale on December 15 for a five day cruise on the Enchantment. This was our 8th cruise on various lines (HAL, PRINCESS, NCL, COSTA, RCL, CARNIVAL) in the past 5 years. Embarkation was smooth as we arrived at 11:30 AM and was on the ship within 20 minutes or so.
The Enchantment is still in great shape, it is clear that her staff affords her the attention she deserves. Of course, she is still a 10 year old vessel and if you want to look hard enough you will find minor defects her and there, however, overall I would give her a rating of 8.5 in her public rooms.
We have always booked balconies on our past cruises and we were certainly concerned that we had decided to book Ocean View rooms in an effort to save a few dollars to spend on the fast approaching Christmas season. Our two rooms were side by side Large Ocean Views on deck two (2024 & 2022) and although certainly not large, we found them to provide a well designed layout that maximized space and we never felt cramped. My six year old was thrilled to take claim to the ledge by the window and turned it into his personal space...he even napped there a few times. The room was clean and in fairly good shape. We did notice the the chrome on the drain in the bathroom sink had started to flake and looked to be in need of repair. Also some of the reflective backing on the mirrors was starting to flake. The bedding was a nice update. We would have loved to see a small fridge in the room as well. Overall I would give the room a rating of 7.5!
