Background: my 7th cruise (3 RCCL, 2 Carnival, 2 HAL); my LSH (long suffering husband)'s 4th (2 RCCL, 1 Carnival, 1 HAL).

FLL is not the worst port we've navigated, nor the best. We drove from our home in the Virginia Mountains and used the Park & Fly lot to transfer to the port. We arrived 'relatively' late -- between 2 pm and 3 pm -- and had an easy glide through check in and onto the ship.

JOTS is undeniably, unbelievably, inexpressibly gorgeous. From the moment we boarded the ship on deck 5 -- through the closed shops -- and arrived at the 12-deck Centrum lobby, we were enchanted. It is a beautiful, understated, well-planned, well-sized ship. We won't comment on individual spaces -- we don't as a rule go to the public performances -- but there was not a badly designed or maintained place in the ship anywhere. Except the cabin's bathroom (see below).
