The Emerald Princess 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise was everything we expected and more. The food was wonderful. Service was exceptional, especially from our steward, Roberto and our dining room servers, Katilyn and Edgar. We enjoyed the cabin layout, particularly the closet space and organization. Beds were comfortable, and the oceanview was excellent. The Piazza was nearby, since we were on deck five. We won at Gatsby's (the casino). We liked the wave pool at the Lotus Spa. We enjoyed most of the shore excursions; the aerial tram ride on Dominica was the most memorable. We enjoyed complementary pastries in the mornings when we slept through regular dining room breakfasts, and we loved the sushi presentation at the international cafe some evenings. The shows were good, especially the Cole Porter revue and Live Wire. We would have liked a more orderly embarkation, one instead of two formal nights, fewer comedians, and a more helpful/knowledgeable shore excursion director (the head of the desk on board ship where you booked shore excursions during cruise). More chairs at the busy pools would also be an improvement. These were small matters, however, and overall, we loved Princess and will be back again. Emerald Princess was a terrific first ride!
