My husband and I, along with dear friends that we met on a cruise 10 years ago, drove to Ft. Lauderdale on December 9th. We arrived at noon time and got into a long line outside the terminal. We were lucky it wasn't too hot. Very soon a Princess employee started pulling Platinum members out for a faster boarding. Soon we were in our cabin to stow our carry-ons. We got a great price mid-summer on an outside obstructed view cabin on Emerald deck. After studying the deck plan, I was able to change to E702, way aft, at the end of the life boats. We had some metal structure outside, but could see everything!!! The cabin itself was efficient, plenty of hangers, and we loved the closet area across from the bathroom. That way, you didn't see that area when sitted inside the cabin. We were greeted by Noel, our cabin steward and he cheerfully put our beds in twin configuration and added top sheets for us. We gave him a short list -- ice often, extra bath towels -- and he never missed a thing for the week. He was efficient and friendly and he was our first nominee for the " extra mile drawing ".

We then had our only meal in the buffet and explored this big beautiful ship. She is elegantly refined and had the same ambiance as the Radiance of the Seas that we cruised a year ago.

This was our first time without fixed sitting for dinner. When we booked mid-summer the waiting list was very long. Since we were cruising with friends we agreed to try " Anytime Dinning ". The first night aboard we were at a table for four in the Coral Dinning Room and struck paydirt!! We had Hector and Jennifer and were so impressed that at Nine O'clock the next morning my DH and I were at guest relations to arrange a permanent six o'clock at their table every night. Marion H., who we grew to love as the week wore on, called the concierge and us who could only reserve for two nights. After dinner at Sabatini's' on Monday, we arrived Tuesday Night at the Coral and were taken to a different table with the explanation that the table we had reserved had been reserved before we reserved it. I found head waiter Alex Leo and sharing my disappointment, he promised that we four would have the table we wanted for the rest of the cruise. Alex was great and he delivered!! In addition, as my DH and I ate all our meals in the Coral, on Wednesday morning as we filed in for open sitting breakfast, Alex pulled us out of line, sat us at a table for four in an empty station, and introduced us to waiter Edmundo. Edmundo served us from Wednesday to Sunday for both breakfast and lunch. He was also outstanding!! Between Hector and Jennifer and Edmundo we " fixed sitting " within the system and made our Cruise!! So, in a short time frame, Noel, Alex, Hector and Jennifer, Edmundo and Marion all went " the extra mile " which is Princess's Goal.
