Just off the Ecstasy, she may not be as big or as new as some of the other ships but she is still a good ship to sail. Sue to the fog we didn't see the Ecstasy come in until about 5:30p.m. and we weren't able to board until 7:30p.m. we got to our cabin at 8:30p.m. and she sailed about an hour later. It was heart breaking not to find her at the dock when we checked Monday morning and instead the Conquest was there and had not left from the night before. Everyone at the port was very helpful and explained the problem and told us to come back at 5:00. We stayed in our hotel until Noon, went to lunch and then down to the pier in front of the Harbor House, we enjoyed checking out the pier area, the kids played games, climbed trees, did somersaults played tag and several other games and we passed the day very easily. My hat is off to the Captain, what a nice man and he is so friendly and caring. He did an excellent job getting us out of Galveston after a 5 and a half hour delay due to fog, he made up the time and got us to our ports on time.

Our cabin was comfortable for a handicap cabin, we had a little problem with the bathroom floor having standing water after a shower, but a few towels mopped it up and we were fine. The mattresses were very comfortable and the bedding very nice. The cabin was kept clean, with plenty of towels and ice. The staff were very friendly all over the ship. Our wait staff in the Windstar dinning room were very friendly and did an exceptional job with the children. They were helpful and would explain the menu so that the kids understood what they were ordering. Entertainment lacked somewhat, they could have more entertainment, but the dancers were great, the female singer did not impress me but the male singer was good. I found better singers in the Society Bar doing Karaoke. Ports were okay, we just went to town in Progresso, the merchants were pretty pushy, we just got our shopping done and returned to the ship, enjoyed the less crowded swimming pool and lounge chairs. My son and his family went to Merida and had a wonderful time seeing the buildings there, and taking in the culture.

In Cozumel we went to Playa Mia, the kids had a great time, on the water trampoline and the ice berg, they enjoyed kayaking, swimming and snorkeling. We had planned on Paradise beach but the Taxi driver convinced us that the kids would enjoy Playa Mia more and that my DH who is in a wheelchair would have more room to move around. The open air restaurant was huge, and everything was very accommodating for the wheelchair. There was also a pool and shops. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and today was the end. We were on Empress deck cabin E053 and did not have bed bugs nor did any of my children or grandkids that were in E015, 021,025 and 029. I'm very happy to report that. I feel so sorry for those that had the problem. Embarkation was slow, but again, I think it is pretty normal for that terminal. We made several new friends and enjoyed talking to people from all over the place and to swap stories of cruising. It was a great cruise and I could have easily stayed for another trip, but I'm afraid the boss wouldn't agree. I hope everyone got home safely, especially the midwest people. I get the pictures on the web soon. Karen http://picasaweb.google.com/gramsklk
