Let's see if I can produce anything with this review that will be of help to future cruisers on this ship or itinerary. My husband, sister and I flew into Rome two days early. Our flight arrived and we zipped through baggage claim and immigrations efficiently based on what I had read prior to our flight. We had scheduled a transfer with Rome Cabs. The driver was waiting exactly where we were told and was very professional. He managed to get our luggage (one medium, one small and one carryon each) stuffed into his Mercedes and away we went to our hotel. I found it a little odd that he needed to make a stop for gas but, since we were renting a car later in the trip, looked at it as a way to gain a little knowledge about Italian service stations.

We stayed at the Hotel Giorgi near the Termini station and were very pleased overall, both with the location and the pricing The room was still being cleaned but they let us put our luggage there while we headed out sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate. The only complaint was that the quaint, old lift (no way was this an elevator) wasn't in service most of the time. The different people at the front desk were helpful and polite.
