A short bio about our group. There were six of us in total, me my wife, our three kids (8,14, and 16). This was me and my wifes third cruise together and the kids first. We booked the cruise through Carnival and also booked the air and transportation. We also booked a pre night stay in Ft. Lauderdale through Carnival at the Fort Lauderdale Grand Hotel and Yacht Club.

Several months before the cruise, we were contacted by Carnival and were told that they were upgrading the Hotel to the Hyatt Regency Pier 66.

We were scheduled to fly at 0630 Saturday morning the day before the cruise, but due to the weather our flight was delayed several hours. There were other people we met at our connection in Memphis that missed there cruise because of the delay and had to fly to catch up with the boat at the first port of call. Also due to the weather we missed our connection flight into miami and was rerouted by the airline to Ft. Lauderdale, witch we never thought would be a problem since that is were we were staying anyway. i also called the Carnival hotline and let them know of the changes. once we arrived at Ft. Lauderdale at around 430pm, we were unable to find a Carnival Rep anywhere in the Airport. I again called the hotline and was told that since we were suppose to fly into Miami, no one would be waiting for us, and that there was no transportation available. I was told that we would have to take a Taxi to the Hotel and attempt to get reimbursed later. I was also told to check with the Hotel about what time the bus comes to the Hotel to take us to the pier on Sunday morning.
