We arrived at the port in Miami on Sunday and really did not have any problems at all. There was a line but was not an extremely long wait. Our luggage was delivered within 45 minutes of being on board. We had a standard inside cabin on deck 10. There were plenty of drawers and cabinet space to accommodate the two of us.

The staff was very helpful and there were plenty of activities on board.

Samana-We were able to get a tour of the city for $20. As soon as we came ashore there were taxis and also mopeds with carts available to take you anywhere you wanted to go. We chose to do the city tour and he took us by the market area first. If you do not like to be pressured into buying you do not want to go to the market. At each booth we went by they would try to pull you in to buy something. You can get a lot for you money in this port. As far as the city goes, it is a very poor area. They had a few really nice shops by the port but once you got into the city the living conditions were very dismal. Samana is a very beautiful port but is a very poor area.
