Route: Five day cruise starting in Galveston, TX - Progresso, Mexico - Cozumel, Mexico - Galveston.

1. General Comments: A pleasant cruise - with exceptions. This was our eighth cruise and our first one with Carnival. Our main purpose for taking this cruise was it was the only one with a shore excursion to the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. This tour made the whole cruise worthwhile.

We were booked into a suite with verandah on the U deck. That was a most spacious and delightful cabin - with even a small walk-in closet. There was enough room to hold a small dance party in the cabin. This was our third cruise line, and once again we ran into issues with dinner seating. We had requested a table for two at the 6:15 seating. Our Sail and Sign cards showed us scheduled for the 8PM seating, and it was a table for four. We joined the long line after boarding to see what the maitre d' could do. There we learned there were no tables for two on the ship; however, the maitre d' would wait list us for something better than 8PM. Later that afternoon we received a note that we now had a table at 5:45 and had requested a table for two. What we got was a table set for four, and my wife and I were the only occupants.
