My background is that my father was in the Army, so I've done a lot of travel overseas, mostly in Europe. Neither of us had never been on a cruise, but my husband and I wanted to try it for our honeymoon. I did a lot of research online and booked everything from the flight to the excursions myself. I ended up going with Norwegian because I did not have to schedule dinner, there was no dress code, and I was told there would not be a lot of kids running around. First of all, the whole booking process was very easy. The website was very user-friendly, and I had no problem comparing the different itineraries or finding which destinations would fit into the window of time I was looking for. I booked my flight, rental car, and accommodations separately so I can't comment on that for NCL, but I didn't hear any complaints.

Finding the port was a breeze. I received directions from NCL on how to get to the port, but there was no shortage of taxis and shuttles headed for the pier. I simply took the shuttle from the rental car company. Getting on board was flawless. I entered the terminal and was on the ship in less than fifteen minutes. I was prepared for a long wait after what I read about online, but there were plenty of people checking passengers on board. I'm sure it's not always this easy, but it seems the system NCL has worked out gets the job done as easily as can be hoped for.

The service left nothing to be desired for me. I never got anything but smiles and professionalism from anyone I encountered that entire nine days. Read more
