First time to cruise with NCL free style dinning. mixed feelings at first but after a couple of days decided it was wonderful not to have to pack my tux like I've done on other cruises.Dining --- again mixed feelings- food on the whole was very good with a few exceptions---- tried the French rest- food good but service appallingly slow. Steak house was excellent but we decided the main dinning rooms were just as good and no extra charge.Especially if you get Marie Ann and Ernesto as your servers. We asked for them each night and had no problem, they were fantastic. Remember you can order as much as you like from the menu, I usually had 3 starters , a lovely salad, soup and something else before the main course , as helpings were inclined to be smaller than other ships and not the same variety as, example Cunard or P&O.I DIDN'T like the risotto with the main meal it was ghastly so I asked for a baked potato with no problem. The main complaint was the waiting for the main dining rooms, we had no problems at all we had a late big lunch about 2pm in the Aloha cafe which was excellent with lots of choices. Then had dinner around 8.15pm with sometimes only 5 mins or less to wait.On the whole we had no problem with the food.
All the shows in the theatre were really second rate , enjoyed the staff night every bit as much.
