Background Information: This is our fourth cruise overall--our second on a Princess cruise ship. I (30) shared my room with a friend (33) and my mom (71). We went to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.

Travel To Port of Embarkation: We flew to Long Beach from New York on Jetblue the day of the cruise. The Long Beach Airport was not as crowded as LAX, but the baggage claim area is in the streets. After collecting the luggage, we took a taxi from the airport to the world cruise terminal in San Pedro. The flat rate is $40, and the meter came to a few cents above $40.

Once we handed our luggage to the porter, we entered the terminal building and didn't take long to get the cabin keys and board the ship. They had several different lines that you can go to, depending on which deck your cabin is. Soon after, we were on the ship checking our cabin and eating lunch on the lido restaurant. The boarding process was relatively smooth.
