Diamond Princess Hawaiian Island Voyage M741 October 19 through November 13

This is the 2nd Hawaiian Island cruise I have taken with princess, the other being on the Island Princess and this was my 8th Princess cruise. I flew from SFO to LAX on using the cruise line air package. I use their air whenever I need to fly to the ship so when the airlines have a problem getting me to the ship it doesn't become my problem. After landing in SFO we were taken to a hotel close by where we hung out for about 2 hours relaxed in the lounge with some food and drinks and did our initial check in receiving everything but our cruise card itself. We then were driven to the port of Los Angeles to board the ship. Since we had already checked in we proceeded to a counter area where the cruise cards were waiting for us. We then went through security and got to board immediately with no waiting at all! I was all by myself walking up the gangway getting on board. The hotel check-in was great!

The Diamond Princess The ship is the newest Princess ship I have been on being built in 2004 and it's in great shape! Most everything was clean and shiny. The only area that looks worn is on the top deck where the Astroturf is coming up a little at the edges as well as the Horizon Court carpet looks a bit worn. I had an inside cabin and it was clean and well maintained. The public rooms are great and the ship is easy to navigate. The Princess Theater makes watching the entertainment great wherever you may be sitting. I used the internet cafe almost everyday and never had to wait for a terminal although the internet connection can be way slow at times.
