NCL Gem 10/28 - 11/09 Barcelona 12 day RT Review (LONG)

A lot of things go into making a cruise experience. We took NCLA Pride of Hawaii in Feb. '07 and were delighted with every aspect of the voyage. Great service, food, ports and staff provided for an overall wonderful trip. We have recommended POH to many people but since she will become "Jade" in a few months I wonder what will happen to the NCLA Hawaii trips?

We booked "Gem" because of our fantastic POH experience and also for the wonderful itinerary. The NCL booking agent could not give me the special rate advertised in a flyer that we had just received in the mail and she could not book me airfare from our local airport. I reserved the cruise through NCL despite the fact that I could have gotten a better rate through a TA. I booked the air on my own and but worried about making the ship on time since the air line kept changing the flight times. We ran into several people who had similar problems and my recommendation is to book air a day or two early and see some of Barcelona. I regret not having done that but it is not NCL's fault.
