I am 63 and my wife 54. This was my 12th cruise and my wife's 7th. Most of our previous experience has been with Royal Caribbean with Celebrity and Holland American getting one cruise each.

We flew from Michigan to Ft Lauderdale on 11/3 prior to our 11/4 cruise (and 14th anniversary) via Northwest. The flights were uneventful and on time which is a rarity in air travel these days. We spent Saturday night at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper which we had booked via Priceline. It is an older facility and while the building was a little dated the room was comfortable and good value for the rate. Location is fine being on the beach

We went to Port Everglades about 11 AM on embarkation morning and were given a numbered and colored tag. The ship was cleared and embarkation begin just about noon and within 20 minutes we were aboard and had found our cabin. Unlike many ships there is no escort but personnel at the elevator banks to give directions.
