We have just returned from the Celebrity Century Western Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona 2nd -12th November 2007. This was our 10th cruise but our first with Celebrity having previously been with 5 other companies. Our last cruise before the Century was in May when we had a disappointing cruise on the MSC Opera. We were optimistic about the Century as our RCCL cruises had been our favorites and hoped Celebrity would be as good. We were not disappointed. This was an excellent cruise in many ways and now rates as our best cruise yet.
Boarding time was 2pm, but having read posts on the CC forum we decided to try to board about 12.00. Check in was open and once a health questionnaire was completed we showed our boarding documents that we had previously completed on-line and were on board in 5 minutes!
Sometimes we find the main restaurant quite noisy. As my wife has some hearing difficulties and I suffer from Tinnitus we had requested a table for 2. We only booked this cruise 10 days before departure so were not surprised that this request was not fulfilled and that we had been placed on a table of 8. We saw the Maitre D' straight after boarding and he said he would try and get a table for 2 for the next day. In the restaurant that night we found the background noise not too bad. We were on a table with 4 other Brits and a couple from Canada all of whom were a pleasure to be with so after dinner we saw the Maitre D' and withdrew our request for the table for 2.
