This was our third NCL cruise - prior cruises being the Bermuda cruise on the Crown and a Caribbean cruise on the Spirit. We had enjoyed both of these so much that when we decided to cruise for a third consecutive year, there was no doubt that we would be booking with NCL.

The 10/28 repositioning cruise on the Dawn had a wonderful itinerary. It left from NY, stopping at St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Kitts, Curacao, Jamaica, the Cayman Island, Cozumel, Aruba, and ending in Miami. We were able to outrun all bad weather and made it to every port. For the most part, the seas were smooth and the weather beautiful except for some rain and overcast weather in Jamaica. With the exception of Jamaica, each port was very enjoyable. Jamaica is not a very safe island and many people on the ship opted not to go ashore.

The Dawn is a beautiful ship. Our oceanview cabin, located on Deck 8, was perfect for us. It was a nice size with ample closet and drawer space, and being midship, we could barely feel the ship moving. We had a coffee maker as well as a small refrigerator that we asked to have emptied so that we could put in our own supply of soda and bottled water that we had purchased before boarding the ship. There was also a small safe for valuables. Our cabin steward was quite efficient; the cabin was always clean and stocked with towels, tissues, etc.
