We are 50 and this was our 35th cruise, our 7th on Princess. I have to say we were extremely disappointed from start to finish. Upon arrival at the port, we could not park in the garage where the ship was docked as there was a boat show. My husband had to drop me and the luggage off and park at another garage. He then had to wait almost an hour for a shuttle to take him back to me. We are Platinum and should have had priority. However, we still had to wait an hour on line. Disembarkation was also a nightmare. Being Platinum, you can wait in special area but that's where it ends. Other cruise lines, the representative walks you all off. Here you still had to wait until your color was called so there was no perk there. Upon exiting the ship, we had to take a shuttle with all of our luggage to the other garage. We had to sit on the shuttle for 45 minutes waiting for it to fill up. Upon arrival at the other garage, we were dumped off at the entrance with all of our luggage. Needless to say, there were no porters at this garage. One would think for the amount of the cruise and a cost of $l50 to park the car, Princess would have worked out something with the City of Ft. Lauderdale and had the boat show people take a shuttle and not cruisers. I would advise that cruisers check their onboard account quite often and not wait until the last day. We incurred many charges that were not ours and took days to get credited. I encountered many passengers who had the same experience. The shows were extremely disappointing compared to past cruises. I might add that this is a new ship and to accommodate more passengers the seats are extremely small and you had better like the person sitting next to you as you are quite close. I felt sorry for anyone who was not of small body. I found it appalling that at the Lotus Spa Pool there are only l0 lounge chairs and bleachers and that you were not able to sit on the lounge chairs on the deck above if you were to utilize this pool. This area is now called the Sanctuary and you are charged $l0 for a half day to use these chairs. After paying for a suite, I do not feel I should have to pay for a lounge chair close to the pool. Speaking of spending extra to have a mini suite, we were quite disappointed in the stateroom. In comparison to suites we have had on Royal Caribbean and Carnival, this was quite small and no bigger than most balcony rooms on other lines. The bathroom was very small for a suite. We were disappointed in the menus as there was very little variety compared to past Princess cruises. Every night seemed to be steak, snapper and shrimp. Italian night was interesting. The only thing Italian was for an appetizer eggplant Parmesan. The main entree was Pot Roast. Being Italian, I can tell you I wouldn't put Pot Roast as an Italian entree. This is the first cruise out of 35 that we spent more nights at the buffet instead of in the dining room. The Captain's Circle program is very disappointing. There really aren't many perks compared to other lines. Being Platinum, you are entitled to priority embarkation and disembarkation which is a joke and $l00 worth of internet, which you need cos of all the trouble trying to use the internet. I did ask the Captain's Circle representative about the program and she snippily told us that when we are elite we will get more. More being our shoes shined and laundry done. Big Deal. I see no incentive to stay loyal to Princess. We are Diamond in Royal Caribbean and get many perks as thank yous including a Concierge Club, match play casino coupons, drinks, free pictures, discounts in boutiques, etc. Prior to this cruise, I thought Princess was a step above the rest as far as food and service but after this cruise I would put them behind Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Carnival. For the price we paid, we were extremely disappointed.
