Please enter your review. Cruised on the 11/2/07 sailing. Arrived around 10:30am to the pier - boarded the ship around 11a. The embarkation process was Terrific! - no lines, many clerks waiting to check people in - it took around 5 minutes. Great to get on board so early - luggage arrived at our room around 3pm - again, great. Beautiful ship, very good food - tended to avoid the restaurants with surcharges. Did eat at LeBistro once ($15/pp surcharge). French food - great atmosphere, one of us loved it, one said OK. Needed reservations for all the restaurants - free and surcharge. Very difficult to get a table at the italian restaurant (LaCucina) - food is great there. Not many lounge chairs on the promenade deck - about 25 on each side - always taken. Not too many places to find a quiet spot to relax without noise/music. Lots of activities - we went to a few - martini tasting - good; newly wed game: funny. Avoided the late evening dances (something different every night - ie - 50's sock hop, beach party, etc.) Maybe fun for the younger crowd! (we are in our 50's). Some great entertainment, some not so great. The singer, jugglers and ventriloquist/comedians were super - the dance shows left a alot to be desired. The acrobats in the dance shows were very, very good - the only saving grace to the dance shows! Drinks very expensive - beers start at $5 - mixed drinks at $5.50 and up - the drink of the day always around $8-$9 - don't get the cheap souvenir glass - it costs an extra $2. At times, felt nickled and dimed to death - they even charge double at the desk for a postage stamp (got off the ship at Barbados and purchased a stamp for 1/2 the price). 15% Automatic tips added to every thing you buy/purchase - they also have a spot to add an additional tip on the charge slip - Beware! Photographers everywhere - every day. Pics $$$ - use your own camera! Shore excursions: 2 thru the ship and took a taxi on our own in Antigua. Saw all the highlights and then some for less than half the price of the ship's excursion. Arrived back to the ship in plenty of time. Not many people went to Samana - I would say only about 1/3 did (based on the tender #'s they called). Most that we spoke to who went ashore said it was pretty bad, and didn't understand why it is now a port for this cruise. Casino usually crowded - only about 6-8 really cheap slots (5Cents/2Cents) - always taken. Broke about even on the slots - most lost (as usual in a casino). Disembarkation was also easy, fast and smooth. We chose the walk off (carry own bags) at 7:30 am - very easy, got thru customs in about 5 minutes. Couldn't have been better! We shuttled back and forth to Fort Lauderdale airport - $18 each way PP - taxi: $30 PP each way. All in All - a beautiful, fun cruise - 9 days was perfect for cruising.
