This was our first Disney cruise and we loved it. Son 15 travelled with us wife 50 me 49. Took three night Bahamas to test the waters. Arrived in Orlando night before embarkation and it worked out great. Rented a car and stayed at airport hotel ($59 at the Wingate incl. breakfast) easy drive to Pt. Canaveral. Got to port at 10:30 and the whole process could not have been smoother. The greeters were fast and porters helpful. Parking for 12 per day was cheap, being from the northeast. After ticketing, boarding was like clockwork. Unlike other critics here we had special requests and were never told no. In fact no crew member we spoke to had any problem addressing our concerns. Lunch served aft was great much more than I expected. Our room was forward starboard. It is a very quiet, low traffic area. We do not know if we had neighbors in adjoining rooms because it was so quiet. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. Be careful, the hot water in the bathroom is very hot. We had the afternoon to ourselves and spent it exploring the ship. Despite the 2500 passengers we never felt crowded anywhere. (except for the evacuation drill). We had the late night seating and started with Parrot Cay, Triton and Animators palate. All dinners were fine, prompt efficient and friendly service was a hallmark of this cruise. Personally I though Animators palate was just okay-nothing awesome.

Speaking of awesome-the nightly shows were just that! I thought that we would do the first night as a family, but much to my surprise, our son wanted to go to the last two as well. Go figure! He enjoyed the teen functions and sports activities. He stayed busy 'til 2 am on board. At Castaway he loved the "Wild Side" a great value for 35.00. Atlantis Aquaventure was pricey (155.00 pp). It was a neat experience but I do not think it was a $500 family trip. Its a long walk to and from the bus in Paradise island for this trip-any mobility difficulties should trigger an inquiry about access directly to the hotel. The days were paced with activities on shore and aboard to stay as busy as a traveller wished. A relaxing afternoon at Castaway's Serenity beach was appreciated and should not be missed. Travelling at night is great and we arrived everywhere on time. Back to port customs was a breeze as was retrieving the car from the lot. All in all we had no complaints at all about this trip only favorable comments. A few more soda fountains forward would have been nice, a bit more time for late diners to get their bags in the hall after dinner would allow for an after dinner drink before packing. We had a safe, fun and relaxing vacation. Definitely would do it again.
