This was our 4th cruise with Carnival. There was 7 in our party ranging in different age brackets. My husband and I , 34 and 31, mom 54, kids 9 and 3, friend 23 and sister 17. Each one of us had an awesome vacation. Due to the Bike Rally in Galveston, we could not find a condo to rent for one night only. We stayed at the Super 8 in Webster which was only about 20 miles to the terminal. To my surprise it was very clean and accommodating. They had everything we needed for our one night stay. We found a restaurant just down the street called MammAlone that had excellent food and service. One of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to.
We arrived at the port at 10:30 which I thought would be too early but we were through security, customs and onboard by 11:30. It seemed so fast. Our cabin was the last cabin on the Empress deck. It was convenient for dinner and getting to the grill. But I would chose a different location next time. It seemed like you could feel a lot more movement here that other places onboard. There was also a lot of vibration. Not enough to bother us though. We just noticed it from time to time.
I sailed on the Conquest in June and loved the beauty of the ship. After reading many reviews I wasn't sure if I'd like the Ecstasy's dEcor. But it was very vibrant, clean and had a fun theme. Everyone in our party loved the ships colors.
