My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday on the Norwegian Gem which celebrated its first month in service during our cruise. The ship was fantastic, the weather was almost perfect (a little less wind on some days would have helped) and the itinerary was varied and interesting - it's a shame that concerns over security meant that we missed a scheduled stop in Casablanca.

The Ship

The ship lives up to its name - it really is a gem. We have sailed on both the Dawn and the Jewel in the past 3 years and so we were familiar with the basic layout. The largest dining room - the Grand Pacific, was just as grand, but a little more subtle and a little less glitzy than the Venetian or the Tsar's Palace. A wonderful room to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, light lunch or dinner.
