My husband and I just came back from the Crown Princess cruise which was our first one. We traveled with three other couples (all of us in the 40-50 range). We loved it. The only bummer for us was the traveling to Puerto Rico to catch the ship (we live in California). That made for two long days. We spent the first night at the Courtyard Miramar. Cheap and easy place, but nice. Would stay there again if need be.

Embarkation was horrible. It took 2.5 - 3 hours. Rumor has it that there was a delay because someone had died on the previous cruise and there was an investigation before we could board the ship. That would be understandable, but it was still miserable. We then hiked around PR and went to the fort. We stopped and bought bottled water and sodas for our room.

We had traditional dining at 6:00 with our party of 8 each night. It was a blast. The food was great. If we didn't like something, we would ask for something else. The seafood was awesome, but the beef mediocre most of the time (except for the Beef Wellington - yum!) We made a pact not to take the elevators, but to climb all the stairs to burn calories. It worked! (along with walking a lot and snorkeling)
