My DH and I are both 50 and traveled by ourselves on this sailing. This was our 9th cruise. We have sailed with RCCL 3 times prior and 5 cruises on Carnival. We drove down from central N.Carolina the day before and stayed at the Residence Inn in Cape Canaveral. Very nice property with a hot buffet breakfast included. We took a taxi to the port which was $8.00 one way. We arrived at approx. 11am.
Embarkation was delayed approx. 30 -60 mins due to problems with some passengers from the previous cruise not understanding their debarkation directions (yea right, wink). We boarded at 12:20 and were able to go directly to our cabin and drop off our carryons.(official cabin availability was 1pm)We met our room attendant,Tony, at this point and were greeted with a smile and a kind word, as we were for the rest of the cruise. We took some post-its with us and left a few notes for special requests and Tony never failed us. We were very pleased with him.
We had a balcony cabin and the size was more than adequate, with plenty of storage and pleasing decor. We enjoyed the new bed linens and pillows but we were a little disappointed in the new mattresses. We prefer Carnival's new bedding/mattress. The balcony had 2 comfortable chairs and a small table which we used most mornings for coffee and breakfast. The bathroom was tiled in shades of greens and blues and had an enclosed tube type round shower. We really like that over the flimsy sticky shower curtain that alot of ships use. Some people complained that they felt too closed in while using the shower. But, my DH and I are plus size and we had no problem.
