We sailed on the Dawn out of New York October 14th. What a beautiful ship. We have sailed on NCL before but this trip was way beyond our expectations. We expected the same service as we have had on all of our many cruises. And I know we are very spoiled as we have been on over 100 cruises. First we went to the buffet while we were waiting on our cabin to be ready for us. That started, not in a good way. The choice was not very good, food was cold and we had no tray to carry the food to our table. We ate in the buffet many times and it didn't get any better. The same thing was served every day. We went to our rooms and found them very lovely. The bathroom was a knockout. Very roomy and a shower that had a door.WOW. Balcony was small but nice. Then we went to dinner. What happened to the great choices on the menu?? Guess they put the good things on the menus in the speciality Restaurants? The food leaves a lot to be desired. Seems like we should make reservations for every meal? What happened to all the fun we use to have with our waiters and servers? Free Style means eating in Fast Foods places? The Italian Restaurant was the nicest and they made us feel like we were on a cruise. Food and service was very good. We did not try the cover charge places as we were use to getting the food and service in the main dining rooms that they were having in the Cover Charge places. Several people that did have dinner in there said it was as nice as in the regular dining rooms ON OTHER SHIPS. And they did not recommend them. In other words "don't waste your Money".

The entertainment was wonderful. The Show Band was right on as were the dancers. The Acrobats were unbelievable. I missed some of the shows because of the virus going around. What we saw was very good

In regard to that. We should have been told about the virus going around the 3rd day out instead of denial by all the personnel. I spent several days getting to know the doctors. And I don't mean that in a good way. Altho they were very nice. We were confined to our cabin for the last 4 days of our cruise. 2 days before we reached port they put out a notice about the virus. I guess better late than never. Sure didn't help the ones that got sick. I had signed up to the internet and was only able to send 3 messages. One, because the computers or service was so slow and then because of being sick. I let the internet gal know I wanted a refund of my money but she couldn't help me with that. She could credit me with the minutes which I used. It sure didn't keep us in touch with our loved ones as planned because of being sick and confined. You get billed on the ship for the computer use, why can't they return the money for the internet that was charged by the ship?? We have been cruising for 35 years. Several times we have taken a large group of family members and friends with us. Because of us there are most likely hundreds of people that have become regular cruisers. WOULD I CRUISE WITH NCL AGAIN? Only if the price was right and the ports are where I want to go. WOULD WE RECOMMEND THIS CRUISE LINE. Not without a word of caution on what to expect. AND Expect to pay additional for good food, To use the spa etc. And expect to pay for a lot of things that you do not have to pay for on other cruise lines. THIS CRUISE WAS A big disappointment as we have cruised 4 or more times with NCL and had a good time and no complaints.
