This was my first cruise with Princess but fifth cruise altogether. Three of us traveled, including myself, my mother, and my 12 year old daughter.

EMBARKATION - Since we were flying in from out of state to the Port of San Pedro, parking wasn't an issue. However, anyone flying into the Long Beach airport should take a taxi. It was quick and $34.00 for however many we could fit in a taxi. We lucked out and found a couple who needed a taxi and we took the first van available to fit us and our luggage. We divided the $34.00 between the 5 of us plus a couple dollars a piece for tip. Once at the pier, porters were ready and waiting as we arrived at approx. 1:00 pm. We proceeded to the check in lines which were not too long and moved fairly quickly. We were on board within an hour.

CABIN - We had a balcony cabin on the BAJA deck. It was nice to not have a balcony above us that could see into our balcony however, we could see into everyone's below. Glad we picked deck 11. Fairly small room. We had two twin beds with a pull down bunk for my daughter. Unfortunately the ladder up to her bed always blocked me getting to my bed. Wished it could have been configured differently! Bathroom was quite small and don't expect to turn around much in shower but was usable. Our cabin steward was like a ghost most days. Don't have any real complaints about him but we were hoping and expecting towel animals every night like other cruise lines do and we were disappointed until the second to the last night when we came in to find a swan...maybe the Princess Swan? We were so happy to get it that the next morning when I actually did see our room steward I thanked him for the towel animal and asked for more. He quickly obliged! We left him and extra ten bucks just because he obliged. Chocolates on the pillows were a nice touch throughout out the cruise.
