* Background Information: This was my 1st cruise. I'm a single gay well-educated male in my early 40's. I did tons of research using cc. I also called a local TA who helped me narrow down my choices. I told her I was a foodie who appreciates the finer things, but can't afford them. She gave me extraordinary advice and catered to my every question with the Millennium being her final recc.

* Travel To Port of Embarkation: I did not stay in a hotel in Fort L. and I wish I did. Next time, I will arrive the day b4, and NOT use Celeb's air program (lame route—long layovers) Do it yourself and stay overnight. The first day on the ship was a blur for me, because I was so worn out/stressed out from the flight. My Ipod was stolen from my baggage at embarkation, but that wasn't Celeb's fault; apparently, the handlers are not Celeb, employed by the port. I should have kept in on me rather than put it in a bag. * Ship Info: Other reviews cover this better than I could, but in general, it's a beautifully designed vessel, tasteful and elegant. * Stateroom: I did my research and asked for a non concierge balcony on the side that would afford me the best views. I was traveling solo, so there was tons of room. The room steward was always there to assist with anything I needed (hence the non need for CC level, Thanks Babette!).

* Activities: The only on ship activity I did was the cooking demo-it was fine, though I was jonesing to take a galley tour and chef said they were discontinued indefinitely due to fears of germs. Oh well. * Fitness: Signed up for daily yoga, but you try to do the giraffe while a ship is listing to one side. What was I (they) thinking? They copped some attitude when I asked for a refund. Used the Persian Garden, was worth it. * Service - Everyone treated me with good cheer and enthusiasm. It truly made a difference to have such a sophisticated approach to service. However, I was treated poorly by customer service when I reported my theft, very patronizing and uninformed. * Shore Excursions: I did my own thing in all ports save DR, where I went on the cave tour. It was relatively new and was extraordinary, very memorable.
