Sail Date: Oct 2007

The date of our cruise was Oct.7-14th.

We arrived in Ft Lauderdale a day early because you don't ever know if the airlines will get you where your going on time. Port Everglades- We arrived at Port Everglades about 11 a.m on Sunday because we like to get on the ship early to go exploring. Why we were waiting to get on the ship, the fire alarm in the building went off and everyone was herded out to the parking lot. By this time the building was nearly full of people. The fireman came and cleared the building after about 20 minutes. We never did know what caused it to go off but one of the guards there said he had been there for 3 years and that was the first time it had happened since he had been there.

Embarkation-The inside of the ship is amazing! But then again I am easily impressed! The decor is beautiful and very tasteful. The ornate elevator was beautiful. We were pointed in direction of our room by one of the staff and when we found our room the room steward (Maria) greeted us and called us by name. I was impressed again because we don't have an easy last name to pronounce. We had an inside room on the Aloha deck. I'm not in the room much, so where I stay is not important. We were traveling with friends and they had the room next door to us, A517. The rooms seemed bigger on the Caribbean Princess than the one we had on Royal Caribbean. Just make sure you leave a light on when you leave because it is dark as pitch with the lights out! The only bad thing I can say about the room location is that there were strange mechanical noises all through the night coming from the walls behind the bed. It sounded like a water heater flushing. Our friends are light sleepers so they had to be moved to a different room. They timed the noise and it occurred every 5 minutes. Just as they would get the sleep, the noise would wake them up. They weren't the only ones that heard it because the people on the other side of them heard it too. We were told a few days later that the swimming pool was right above us so we figured it had something to do with the swimming pool mechanics.
