Embarkment: Arrived in Vancouver late,2pm Didn't have HAL transfer but got one @ Canada Place-taxi $34, HAL $17pp 35 min drive. We were late so we got on the ship quick. CABIN: Veranda Suite, nice size but a little tight for 2 big bottoms & 1 big belly! Curtain to divide bed from sofa bed. Large table in front of sofa can get in the way. Bathroom good size but bathtub height is difficult for people with hip problems. Lots of storage! SHIP:Absolutely lovely! Fresh flowers every where, picturesque area's every where-Bring your camera!Dinning room has lots of windows, crows nest great views(smoking is allowed in some areas)Lido cafe is nicely laid out on both sides of ship, and with the sliding glass roof to cover the pool area there really is a lot of room to sit, pool area with the dolphin statues dividing the hot tubs is very pretty.Gym is a little small but great views, 5 bikes,6(?)treadmills and about 8 various weight machines. Spa area was wonderful, never used it though, and the casino I didn't go in(sorry)3rd deck goes all the way around, great for glacier bay(lots of blankets out)Internet cafe was in pictures of time gone by (old NY,Yankees w/babe ruth)very nice and quite!Wajang theater nice size and great pop corn, Frans HAL Lounge great seats, some are hi-backed sofa's. Pinnacle Grill looked real nice, but it's right across from the Wajang theater and a couple tables are right next to the aisle and you can see right in. FOOD/SERVICE:Food was good every where and the service was great! From the cabin steward to the food servers, everyone was fantastic.I loved the fact that the guys will come and take your tray of food and help you find a seat. I know I've read about the push to sell everything but they were very pleasant! The king crab legs and the filet & lobster tail were really wonderful!

ENTERTAINMENT:GREAT!The shows were very good. The dancers were so high energy!Good singers. The magician was funny and good. The banjo guy-Doug-was fantastic! It was strange though to be listening to this high energy music and it seemed that only my mom & I were clapping & enjoying it. I think the Gerital was wearing off the other passengers! EXCURSIONS:Juneau:We went fishing w/juneausportsfishing.com GREAT!98lb halibut,& several rock fish.Mom did the Mendenhall/Gardens and loved it! Very rainy day. Skagway:Foggy, rainy we rented a car @ sourdoughrental.com and was going to do the drive next to the White Pass train route, but the operative word is: was.Too foggy! We went about 11 miles out and could only see about 50/60 yards. Turned around and went to the cemetery & falls, that was nice. I've heard people say that you could walk to the cemetery from the ship, cut this is uneven terrain and about a mile away. Not easy. Ketchikan:We went fishing again! 35lb King salmon(not common for the end of Sept)& several silvers w/ketchikanfishing.net Ken the guide even had an eagle fly down to catch some fish he through out-he was great! Mom went on the "Lumberjack show & TotemBightPark" she said it was ok It was rainy also, but the sun did come out for a little bit. Glacier Bay:Magnificent!Captain was great at maneuvering and the Park Rangers that came on did a great job and the glaciers themselves were.....what can I say, this is why I picked this trip! Make sure you have fresh batteries in your camera. Over all: I couldn't have asked for a better dinner table. Right next to a window and whales & porpoises every day! This ship has something to do all the time if you want to do them. I can't complain about anything. Beautiful ship, great staff, wonderful excursions, I know I'm probably leaving something out that someone would want to know. Late Sept is GREAT for shopping, the deals are unbelievable, thank God for the post office. I spent $40 to ship most of the stuff back home! T-shirts (the good ones) for $2.50 Disembarkment: We did self assist. Docked @7am and off by 7:30am Couldn't have been easier. If you want to see pictures go to: http://community.webshots.com/user/number1labmom I just hope that works!
