This was our very first cruise AND WE HAD A BLAST! We live in the Houston area so we drove down to Galveston. Drive was easy and no traffic to be found. PARKING: Pulled up to Lighthouse parking and we were on the shuttle to the cruise terminal within minutes, tipped the driver and was at the terminal in about 5 minutes. EMBARKATION: Dropped our luggage off at 11:30 and we were onboard by 11:45. We used our birth certificates and driver's license to board the ship. Headed up to Lido deck for the buffet which was ok, nothing spectacular. Hubby did not like his selection so he went and got a burger from the grill. We were able to get into our cabins about 1:45 and were happy to see it was not a tiny space! Nice size cabin. The first night we dined in the windstar dining room and had Yoman and Made as our waiters, they were wonderful! The food in the dining room is much better than the buffet. Formal night was fun and the Captain's party was really cool, plus the drinks are on the Captain! The lobster was pretty good in the dining room on formal night and hubby had the prime rib which he said was really good! SHORE EXCURSION: We went on the PUNTA SUR ECO PARK AND SNORKEL TOUR. Miguel and Nichol were our tour guides and they were a hoot! Cozumel is famous for snorkeling and I highly recommend it! The Lido deck games and activities are alot of fun and worth watching every day. The gym is very nice as well as the Spa. SHOWS: We only went to one and I will say it was so-so. The comedian really wasn't that funny. STAFF: The staff onboard are the greatest! They make you feel like royalty! I loved the staff and hated to leave them.... CABIN: We were on the Riviera deck in 195 and the cabin was nice. We were near the aft elevators but did not notice alot of noise. The window was pretty clean and we spent alot of time looking out onto the sea. The bedding and pillows were to die for. Take some air freshener as there is a slight odor that comes from the restroom. The robes are comfy too! DEBARKATION: It was a slow process but the line was steady moving. I mean there are 2000+ people getting off the ship and you cannot rush Customs. OVERALL: great ship, great crew and great fun! I would cruise the Ecstasy again! As I said there were 2000+ people aboard and I never felt crowded.
