Sail Date: Sep 2007
Cabin: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

This was our third cruise aboard the NCL Dawn out of NY, second in 2007. The embarkation process went smoothly and our luggage was delivered promptly. Our cabin, a mini-suite on Deck 11 was available at 1:00 PM following lunch aboard.

Except for 7 minors on board, all passengers were adult, quite a different experience from our April cruise when the ship was filled with children and teenagers. The entertainment featured the exact same shows that we saw in April with some newer acts. The magician, by the last name of Maurer was exceptional and a singer named Gabrielle Lee stylish. All of the films, with the exception of two, were aimed at kids: Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, etc. Children's films were the norm.

The guests in the next cabin were heavy smokers and spending any time on the balcony provided one with lots of second hand smoke instead of the anticipated fresh air. Perhaps the time has come to ban smoking on private balconies.
