Just got back from 4 days on the not yet completed Inspiration, Was in dry dock the month of September. Our group of 6 adults arrived at the Tampa port at noon. VIP check in was a bit slow. The terminal was stuffed with unhappy faces. We were given an upgrade to an OV a few weeks earlier, but had to give it up. Many cabins were not yet completed and of course one of them was mine. Embarkation was delayed as workers could be seen running all over the ship doing last minute tasks. At about 2pm we began boarding. As VIPs we were among the first 50 to board. We could not go to our cabin on Empress Deck. The hallway was closed until cleared for passengers. So up to the pool deck luggage in hand for a bite to eat. Crew members are still setting up food as we get our tray and silverware. One coffee station and one ice machine are out of service. Soon there is no coffee or ice. After we eat, the Empress deck is open. E 15 is a forward inside cabin. The room looks great. New carpeting, flat screen TV. New bedding and four of the best pillows I ever slept on. Bathroom is white with a dark blue floor with lots of light. We have shampoo and body gel in the shower. Plus toothpaste, disposable razors, hand cream and other samples. Our cabin has ample closet and drawer space with plenty of hangers. However there is no chair at the desk. We are informed that our chair is not onboard so we only have the bed to sit on. Muster drill is delayed 1 hour. We leave Tampa 2 hours late. As we tour the ship she looks very good. Most everything seems new. The crew is still trying to get settled in. Many passengers complain about waiting as much as 3 hours to board. As we continue walking the ship we can smell paint and varnish. The adult only area on deck 9 aft is small. It has no pool or bar and only 1 of the 2 hot tubs is ever working. The Waterworks project with the 4 story slide is never opened, so all aft decks above deck 9 remain closed. This only leaves 1 adult pool onboard for everyone to use. This pool was closed until 3:30pm on the second day and closed all morning on the third day.

I was hoping to enjoy all the new features on this ship. So of course it was less than a perfect cruise. Of course we will sail Carnival again. The food and service still remains very good.
