I want to get information out as soon as possible so I apologize for the review being disorganized. I will also keep adding little "Oh by the Ways (OBTW)" as I remember little things here and there that don't seem to fit at that point in my review. My DW and I are in our early 50's (DW would kill me if I did not clarify that as she is late 40's), with the longing to still be in our 20's. We have been on 9 prior cruises including Carnival, Holland and Royal Caribbean. To peek at the end of this review, we loved this cruise and would repeat it in a heartbeat. Now back to the beginning...

We only booked the cruise a week before sailing so we had no time to explore the threads here on tours and islands so we just relied on our CC friends for recommendations. More on that later.

We arrived uneventfully in San Juan airport around noon on day of cruise. We grabbed a taxi outside the airport direct to the ship. The taxi rates are fixed by the city. The charge is 19.00 per couple plus .50 per piece of luggage. Look for the taxi kiosk and they will fill out a form with the price and get a taxi for you. We arrived at the ship in about 45min (the ride back was only 20 min, we hit a lot of traffic on the way out). We stopped at the duty free shop as we were told you could take about any liquor on board as long as it is in your carry-on. We picked up a few bottles and got in line. It took about 40 min to get onto the ship and this is one of my few complaints about this cruise, there was only 1 person doing a final security check of documents before actually entering the ship. She was quite slow and understood no english. There also was no one taking pictures before entering the ship. We always like that "first" picture to lead off our pictures in our albums.
