We traveled on Adventure of the Seas on 8/26. Before arriving at the ship we stayed in San Juan at the Marriott and had an excellent time. The beach and hotel were awesome and the staff was very friendly. We took a short taxi ride to the pier and were onboard the ship within 40 minutes. No problem at all with embarking. The ship was very nice and clean. While on the ship we enjoyed the activities, (rock wall, mini golf, ice skating and roller blading). None of these activities had long lines and the times that they were open were convenient. The layout was nice except for the buffet. If you wanted to eat outside on deck you food was cold by the time you get there. Also there is not enough seating in the buffet to accommodate everyone so many times we were standing there with a tray and no place to sit so again cold food. On four of the mornings I was unable to get coffee unless I went downstairs Deck 5 for it. I am baffled why they would not keep the coffee pots going in the morning. On the first night we returned to the room to see our dirty towels still there and dirty glassed still on the vanity. Throughout the stay if I wanted dirty dishes or glasses removed I had to do it myself.

On this cruise they were changing the carpeting on the pool deck so throughout the cruise there were big rolls of carpeting around and blocked off with caution tape which changed the traffic flow which was somewhat annoying. On the second to last night of the cruise there was a step missing going up to the kids club about two stairs up which is dangerous and no staff seemed concerned. I reported it and when I went back up to get my daughter and hour later it was still missing and not taped off. The dining room staff was very pleasant and efficient. The food was not good at all, 3 nights i left the dining room hungry. I went to deck 5 for pizza or a sandwich. I was very disappointed in this because I had heard such great things about the food on RCCL. I have cruised 5 times before this on other lines and never left the dining room hungry or had to do without coffee. The ports were beautiful. If you are a Pirates of the Caribbean fan i recommend the cruise on the Brigg Unicorn. We had so much fun and the crew was wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. In Barbados we went to the Boatyard for the day. Again we had a great time the beach was beautiful. We took a cab on our own and they provide transportation back to the ship. In Antigua we arranged on our own to go to Hawksbill Resort. We bought a day pass and took a taxi. It was the best money we spent. Sooo relaxing and away from crowds. Beautiful water, hospitable staff. I would love to go back and stay there. St. Martin we went to Little Divi beach and again very nice. We went jetskiing and that was a highlight of the trip for my husband and daughter. In St. Thomas we took a taxi to town for shopping and lunch. We had a great time going in and out of all the shops and purchased some great things. Overall we had a great time, the activities the ship offers were alot of fun and the islands were awesome. I probably would not cruise on Royal Caribbean again because of the food and stateroom steward.
