Ship Facts: Carnival Glory Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Glory Deck Plans
Carnival Glory - Western Caribbean
Carnival has done it again!!!!! Great Cruise!! embarkation was simple, parked at the port-$84 for the week. We did notice a few changes as far as getting on board-pictures for the sail and sign cards are now located in a different spot and i think that it was a little longer this time to go thru that process, but all in all, it was good.We were on board by 12 noon, in our cabins at 1:30, as promised. Muster went just dandy, with no stragglers to wait for. This was around 3:45, so it gave us enough time to unpack and shower before setting off for the muster drill. Our cabin was 9233, forward/balcony-great location!! and we are now sold on lido deck.No elevators to wait for for breakfast, etc..., only thing i would suggest here, is when booking your cabin, maybe you should review where you are located for your dining room, as were had to go aft for the 5:45 seating in the Platinum Dining room. Even though i have been on this ship a few times, i still get lost with the elevators and the locations of the dining areas.Maggie and Made-our dining staff were just great, very attentive and far exceeded our previous experiences. Our Cabin Steward-Willy was just the same, he even dug through the garbage and found our excursion tickets that were placed in the room garbage can by accident. We searched everywhere and he went above and beyond to find them in the area where he took our garbage.KUDOS to Willy!!!!!!!

Ports of Call were just fabulous, Cozumel, we just walked around and purchased our goods and window shopped.Belize, we did an excursion outside of carnival Cave Tubing. Please, remember to bring BUG SPRAY we were eaten alive even with borrowing someone elses spray as we did not bring any.Make sure that your tour guide is good and keeps everyone together on this tour as we did witness some horrifying tubing accidents.Seems some tour guides just let people get separated and are left to their own devices. Ours did not, he taught us early on how to stay together and how to paddle the currents, he also knew a wealth of knowledge about belize. Roatan WOW!!!! an excellent port for snorkeling and i would imagine diving. We did do a carnival excursion for this port as we never had been to honduras and did not know alot about this port.We chose the Jolly Roger excursion time spent 1/2 snorkeling and 1/2 going to Gumbalinda Park and this was definitely the highlight of our cruise. The monkeys and birds were just so beautiful and friendly. The tour guides allow you to take pics with them and if you bring an extra bottle of water, they will allow you to give them a drink.Be careful if you bring fruit, as these monkeys are very curious (just like curious george lol!!) and they will find it-if you bring a banana, the guides will let you feed them a little at a time, with them present.Monkeys were excellent!!! they climbed onto your shoulder/back/head what an experience!

Gumbalinda park also has a HUGE swinging bridge to walk over if you desire the "survivor" like atmosphere, i did it (still can't believe i walked that bridge without my sister) she chose the alternate route, the sturdier bridge to get to the park. The park also has iguanas walking around and lizards too.Snorkeling here was great-catamaran took us out to a huge area of coral reef and the fish were beautiful!! Freeport was great too, typical straw market with t-shirts and baskets. if you need a phone card, i found "d"'s pharmacy-to the right when getting off the ship, she let me use her phone for $12-with using a phone card she provides. Minutes? 20, good deal huh?.Getting back on board, the activities were just great, although i missed some old time favorites-either i missed seeing them on the caper or they removed them(ie:scattergories) I just love the Glory and will definitely travel again, there is just something so very special about her. Our Cruise Director WEEEEEEEE JIMMY was ok, i really missed Shaun Bussey this time though, she, in my opinion, is the epitome of a cruise director. Weee Jimmy was good though, just you did not see/hear alot from him as we did with Shaun. As i stated above, Carnival, you know how to do it and do it well!!(the only thing that drives me nuts is where are all the ashtrays for the lido deck and casino? how about gluing them to the tables????LOL!!) We had a great time and are planning a hawaii trip with you know who.........CARNIVAL OF COURSE!!!!!!
