My wife and I were on the 9/15/07 sailing of the Freedom. We are veteran cruisers of RCCL, Celebrity, Princess, Costa, and Carnival. Travel before to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, and Alaska. Without doubt this was the best cruise ever!
The Freedom is an incredible ship, truly a resort on the water. This trip had 4,000 passengers and almost without exception it never seemed crowded. The only exception is when events are held in the Promenade, which cannot accommodate all who would like to attend.
The food was the best we ever had. The dinner in the Portofino was truly one of the best all around meals we have experienced. (Trust me we have been at 5 star restaurants all over the country.)
We had incredible shore excursions. Horse riding in the surf at Ocho Rios, petting the Sting Rays in Grand Cayman, and playing with the Dolphins in Cozumel. We only got these by booking them on-line four months in advance. (Hint?)
Our E2 cabin was very spacious with an incredible balcony. This is the lowest price balcony, and was truly a bargain. A new ship is always the best to select for both spaciousness and cleanliness.
This booking was in late September as our kids are grown, and this time is the best as school has started. With 4,000 passengers, there will be kids, but the ship has an incredible program, and thus adults can enjoy their solitude. Of course the Crypt is a great dance place to relive your youth, and see the youth of today!
The service from the Cabin attendant, to the waitstaff and bartenders, were all exceptional. I highly recommend this cruise to those who love the Caribbean, enjoy a huge floating resort, appreciate great food and service, and expect the best value for each cruise dollar spent!
